The Fund Investment Office develops investment activities centered on domestic VC funds and PE funds, and is responsible for a series of processes, from origination, due diligence, execution, and post-investment monitoring of investment opportunities, while emphasizing policy perspectives such as “not only the pursuit of pure financial returns,” it also emphasizes policy perspectives such as “will it lead to ecosystem development.”
Furthermore, while analyzing the fluctuating market environment, we are also investigating and discovering new investment themes, and we utilize this knowledge in examining investment strategies and evaluating individual projects.
Recently, we are actively cooperating not only in Japan, but also with overseas managers and investors, and are actively promoting initiatives to create investment opportunities on our own. Research Office Vice President

As an intelligence function of JIC, the research office plays an important role in planning and drafting JIC's overall management strategy and investment strategy. Results obtained through research activities are shared with various stakeholders involved in the Japanese ecosystem, such as fund operators and corporate managers, and JIC's investment activities with policy significance are widely disseminated, and they also contribute to the promotion of risk money supply. Against this background, the Research Office is an organization with great influence within JIC.
In research, particular emphasis is placed on generating output with “effectiveness leading to specific actions” and “uniqueness like no other.” Due to the nature of their work, members are required to build a broad network through dialogue with diverse stakeholders, such as key persons in each industry, domestic and international investors, and business companies, and to comprehensively grasp industrial/technological trends, capital markets, policy trends, etc. from a global perspective.

Vice President, Legal Affairs Team, Legal Compliance Office
Business content
The Legal Affairs Compliance Office Legal Affairs Team is responsible for responding to legal issues related to the investment activities of the JIC Group as a whole and providing advice to minimize risk. In addition to risk management based on legal expertise, a perspective that is close to practice as an investment team partner and smoothly proceeds with the investment process is required.
As our main business, we prepare contract documents and provide legal support for new investment projects, and respond to legal issues related to the Companies Act, Labor Law, Bankruptcy Law, etc. for existing investors, and cooperate with external lawyers as necessary to respond to antitrust laws and confirm whether filing is necessary in each country. It is also responsible for tasks related to maintaining the Group's governance, such as dealing with legal issues relating to subsidiaries and funds operated by subsidiaries, and confirming internal procedures based on the Industrial Competitiveness Enhancement Act, and supports the sound operation of the JIC Group as a whole.
Welcomed experiences/skills
■ (Required) Being qualified as a Japanese lawyer
■Work experience as a law firm or in-house lawyer dealing with corporate legal affairs (5 to 10 years)
■Experience in fund related business, venture investment business, M&A related business, finance related business, etc.
■Work experience in the fund, VC, and financial services industry
